Important Saturday timing detail

Plan to finish your priority tastings before 4 p.m. Public-facing listings state a 4:30 p.m. finish, the organizer’s FAQ and vendor instructions state 4 p.m., and a recent festival announcement lists 4:15 p.m. Arriving early removes the risk of missing a winery because of an earlier final pour.

Where is the California Wine Festival held?

Friday location: Hilton Santa Barbara Beachfront Resort

Friday’s event is outdoors at Plaza Del Sol, inside the Hilton Santa Barbara Beachfront Resort at 633 East Cabrillo Boulevard, Santa Barbara, CA 93103. The evening begins with a sparkling wine reception before moving into rare and reserve pours from California wine regions.

Saturday location: Chase Palm Park Great Meadow

Saturday’s Beachside Wine Festival is at Chase Palm Park Great Meadow, 236 East Cabrillo Boulevard.

Use “Chase Palm Park Great Meadow” in your navigation app rather than relying on a general park pin. Chase Palm Park covers areas on both sides of Cabrillo Boulevard, and some event listings display a different street number. The City of Santa Barbara confirms 236 East Cabrillo Boulevard as the park address.

What is the full 2026 California Wine Festival winery lineup?

The currently announced lineup includes 34 wineries and wine organizations from Santa Barbara County, Napa Valley, Sonoma County, Paso Robles and other California regions:

  • A-F: Adobe Road Winery, Akash Winery & Vineyards, Alma Rosa Winery, Aperture Cellars, Bernardus Winery, Bezel from the Cakebread Family, Brick Barn Wine Estate, Burtech Family Vineyard, Cakebread Cellars, Caymus Vineyards, Cuvaison, Double Bond Wines, EHRET Winery and Foley Family Wines & Spirits.
  • H-M: High Flyer Wines, Kiler Canyon Vineyard, La Lieff Wines, Lloyd Cellars, Macchia, Malibu Wine Company, Michael Pozzan Winery and Mizel Estate Wines.
  • P-Y: Prescription Vineyards, Priest Ranch, Rombauer Vineyards, Sta. Rita Hills Wine Alliance, Shale Oak Winery, Terra Amata Vineyards, The Vinho, Trefethen Family Vineyards, Turning Tide Wines, Vincent Vineyards, Williams Selyem and Ysidro Sake Spritz.

The organizer notes that its Santa Barbara winery list is updated weekly, so booth additions or last-minute substitutions remain possible.

A smarter way to taste the lineup

Do not start with the biggest Cabernet at the first booth. A better route is:

  1. Begin with sparkling wines, sake spritzes and crisp whites.
  2. Move to Chardonnay, rosé and lighter Pinot Noir.
  3. Continue with Syrah, Zinfandel and richer blends.
  4. Save Cabernet Sauvignon and sweeter wines for the final round.
  5. Use the provided water and spit buckets between producers.

Choose six to eight wineries you genuinely want to visit before arriving. Taste those first, then explore unfamiliar producers. This works far better than moving randomly through the busiest tents.

Which restaurants and food vendors are attending?

The announced food and beverage partners include:

  • Aficio22, Aquamar, The Knock, Buena Onda Empanadas, Butterfly Brittles, CHZ GUY/Coastal Specialty Foods and Costa Kitchen & Bar
  • Crepería El Chisme, Doms Taverna, Finch & Fork, Gino Angelini Foods, Goufrais Southern California and Hilton Santa Barbara Beachfront Resort
  • Marisella, Montecito Gourmet Wine & Coffee, p.o.p. candy co., Rhino’s Glazed Almonds, Santa Barbara WoodFire Catering, SB Craft Jerky, SiSi Cakes and The Blue Owl

Admission covers food and drink samples, but the organizer clearly states that full-sized portions are not provided. Eat a light meal before entering, especially before Friday’s stronger reserve pours.

Who is competing in the Best Tri-Tip in the 805 contest?

Saturday ticket holders can taste the entries and vote in the Best Tri-Tip in the 805 competition.

The announced competitors are:

  • Convivo
  • Costa Kitchen & Bar
  • Craft Wood Fired Catering
  • Mac’s Tip Smokehouse
  • Meraz Catering
  • Oak and Fire
  • Santa Barbara WoodFire Catering

Festival instructions state that voting ends at 3 p.m., with winners scheduled to be announced at 3:30 p.m. Sample the competitors before the final hour rather than leaving the barbecue area until the end.

What does the Beachside VIP ticket include?

The $165 Saturday VIP ticket includes noon entry, access to the VIP Pavilion, premium seating and additional food-and-wine experiences. Featured VIP food partners are The Blue Owl, Buena Onda Empanadas, Doms Taverna, Finch & Fork and Vibe Caviar.

VIP offers the most value for guests who want seating, an extra hour and a less rushed tasting plan. Early Entrance at $125 is the better middle option for visitors who mainly want first access to winery booths.

Which musicians are performing in 2026?

Live music is confirmed, but the 2026 performer names have not been published on the organizer’s entertainment page as of July 15. The current page still displays Santa Barbara’s 2025 acts, so those names should not be presented as the 2026 lineup.

What should you bring to the California Wine Festival?

Bring as little as possible because all bags are searched. Small purses, totes and drawstring bags are permitted, while backpacks are prohibited.

Useful items include:

  • Government-issued photo ID
  • Sunglasses and a secure hat
  • Sunscreen
  • A light layer for the evening
  • A fully charged phone
  • A compact reusable water bottle, subject to security rules

The festival is 21 and older, and organizers advise contacting them at least three days in advance for ADA accommodation requests. Tickets are non-refundable but may be transferred to another person.

What will the Santa Barbara weather be like on Saturday?

Saturday afternoon is forecast to stay around 74-76°F, with intermittent clouds and temperatures cooling after the festival. The event is outdoors, so sunscreen still matters even when the sky looks overcast.

Where should visitors park or arrange transportation?

A train, rideshare or designated driver is safer than driving after the tasting. The organizer recommends public transportation and says public parking lots are available within roughly a quarter mile of the venues. The city lists Palm Park, Garden Street, Cabrillo East and Cabrillo West among its waterfront parking options.

The Pacific Surfliner identifies the event as accessible from Santa Barbara Station, making a car-free day trip possible for visitors coming from other Southern California coastal cities. Check the return schedule before tasting, not after the event ends.

Is the 2026 California Wine Festival worth attending?

Yes, particularly for visitors who want to compare established California labels with smaller regional producers in one afternoon. The real value is not the number of pours. It is the chance to ask focused questions, compare the same grape across different regions and discover wines that may not be widely available in local stores.

Friday is better for collectors and guests who prefer a quieter, more structured evening. Saturday is better for first-time visitors, groups and anyone who wants the full beachside atmosphere.

A portion of the festival’s charitable activity benefits the Foodbank of Santa Barbara County, adding a local community connection to the weekend.
