easyJet France Strike Alert: Paris, Nice, Lyon Flights at Risk August 15–16

Published on

easyJet passengers flying to or from France on August 15 and 16, 2026 should check their flight before leaving for the airport. French easyJet cabin crew are due to strike on both days after unions said talks over working conditions failed to produce an agreement.

The action concerns easyJet flight attendants based in France, meaning disruption could spread across the airline’s major French bases, including Paris Charles de Gaulle, Paris-Orly, Nice, Lyon, Bordeaux and Nantes. These six airports remain easyJet bases in France.

Which easyJet France flights could be affected on August 15–16?

No complete cancellation list has been published yet. The strike does not mean every easyJet flight in France will be cancelled, but passengers using French-based crews face a higher disruption risk.

AirportWhat passengers should do
Paris CDGCheck flight status before travelling
Paris-OrlyWatch closely for schedule changes
NiceAllow extra time and avoid tight connections
LyonKeep alternative transport options ready
BordeauxMonitor email and easyJet app alerts
NantesConfirm departure before reaching airport

The strike dates fall during the busy August holiday period, so replacement flights can become expensive or fill quickly.

Why are easyJet cabin crew in France striking?

Unions say working conditions are the central issue. SNPC-FO said negotiations involving several unions and easyJet had not resolved their concerns and blamed the airline for any resulting disruption. easyJet had not immediately commented when the August 15–16 walkout was announced.

easyJet France Strike

An earlier strike notice covered all easyJet France cabin crew, showing that the dispute is not limited to one airport.

What should I do if my easyJet flight is cancelled?

Do not rush to buy another flight before checking what easyJet offers first. Its official Disruption Help Hub provides rebooking and refund options.

For travelers, the practical order is:

  1. Screenshot your flight status and cancellation message.
  2. Check easyJet rebooking options first.
  3. Keep receipts for meals, hotels and essential transport.
  4. Avoid cancelling the booking yourself unless you understand how that affects your rights.

A cancelled flight can also trigger rights under EU Regulation 261/2004. Depending on the circumstances, passengers may qualify for rerouting, refunds, care and potentially compensation. easyJet lists possible compensation of €250, €400 or €600 depending on flight distance and eligibility.

Is my easyJet flight definitely cancelled because of the France strike?

No. Keep the booking unless easyJet tells you otherwise. Check the easyJet latest travel information page and flight tracker repeatedly on August 14, then again before leaving home.

For anyone connecting through Paris, Nice or Lyon, the safest strategy is simple: avoid a tight onward connection and keep one backup route in mind before strike day.
